Data Engineering Manager

A reputable large organisation who is undergoing a wholesale digital transformation is looking for a data engineering manager to provide technical management, leadership, and strategy for their newly formed data engineering team.

Data engineering is new to the company and therefore the data engineering manager will be responsible for building out the team in their vision, making and implementing informed decisions as well as setting up processes and data integrations; whilst bridging the gap for the overall digital customer strategy and wider customer data and analytics teams.

As the data engineering manager you will initially oversee a team of two but will be responsible for the future development and hiring of the team. This role is not a hands-on development position, you will define, develop, and manage the onboarding of customer data sources to the azure cloud platform and make decision around tooling and bringing in industry standards.

Strong experience in the following areas are essential……

Design and development of data stores, data warehouses / data marts.

Strong experience integrating multiple source data systems into a single data model.

Experience with cloud-based technologies, ETL and analytical software, specifically SQL Server, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory
