Data Engineer - Fully remote (Needs to be UK-based)

An experienced and driven Data Engineer is needed for one of the most successful global digital banks, offering simple and assured ways of managing their customers money. This opportunity will enable the ideal candidate to work within some of the most exciting tech stack in ethical banking and become part of a young, dynamical and growing company.

About the role:

You will be working within their Data Engineering team; you will be running closely with the end client’s internal stakeholders, to execute new technology and strategies to control their data across the company. You will be responsible for developing the concept on how their data & metrics can support the employer’s continuous growth, whilst offering professional guidance and best practices in data life-cycle management. You will need to have previous experience of working within a Data Engineering designing, managing and supporting the related toolsets and infrastructure to make sure the platforms stay highly automated, self-servicing and able to scale as we continue to expand.

You will need to have experience in:

  • AWS data analytics services (Kinesis, Redshift, Quicksight)
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS DynamoDB.
  • Working with AWS Athena.
  • Scripting languages such as Python.
  • Familiarity with Gitlab CI/CD to support the deployment of applications across cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
  • Familiar with serverless, event-driven technology such as AWS Lambda
  • Working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Having great communication skills
  • Working in a team to develop procedures for secure and effective data management.
  • Transform data definitions, data mappings and providing support across ongoing integration activities.
  • Working with their product owners & software engineering teams to help understand and define what applications and platform data are needed.
  • Showing a strong knowledge of database structures and principles.
  • Experience of fixing apps & data platform occurrences, through to resolution
  • Have an analytical mindset with a strong problem-solving ability.
  • Vast experience working within continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD).
  • Having the ability to translate non-technical requirements to technical requirements
  • Working with log management and monitoring data platforms on cloud
  • The ability and enthusiasm to learn & use open-source technologies and tools
