Engineering Manager - Hybrid - London – FinTech

Business Overview:

Our partner is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager within a scale-up FinTech business. More specific to the payment’s platform, including eWallets, payments cards and apple watch. Our key partner is currently processing all these transactions in over 10 countries and there will only be more and more growth.

What you will be doing:

• Working with Engineers to establish career plans, review promotions and coaching Engineers.
• Managing the engineering team’s resource planning, head hunting and counting

• Participating in technical decisions and owning outcomes
• Working with Engineers to establish metrics that can help increase performances.
• Collaborating closely with senior members to plan and execute multiple organisational initiatives.
• Build performant, sustainable, and maintainable technologies and code.
• Consider progress towards agreed delivery milestones and escalating as needed.
• Investing 80% of your time leading your team and delivering product features, 20% in writing code

What you will need to have:

• 5+ years of related professional experience in leadership and software development, in Java and/or Go
• Strong sense of curiosity and self-motivation and the willingness to participate in all areas of engineering.
• Experience across the whole SDLC and including running what you design.
• The appeal to share your knowledge and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical people.
• The ability to understand, manage, and communicate efficiently.
• Exposure to building and maintaining a collective team environment.
• Experience in raising the profile of and promoting, team achievements.
• Track record of successful delivery and delighted squads
