QA Engineer - Fully remote (Needs to be UK-based)

An experienced and driven QA Engineer is needed for one of the most successful global digital banks, offering simple and assured ways of managing their customers money. This opportunity will enable the ideal candidate to work within some of the most exciting tech stack in ethical banking and become part of a young, dynamical and growing company.

About the role:

You will be playing a vital role in sustaining the overall delivery of our clients’ solutions. The candidate will play a starring role in shaping and providing towards the company’s overall approach and objectives. This will involve the candidate to have ownership over selecting exciting new tools, technologies and illustrating their most efficient QA techniques across the whole team. This will help to ensure that the highest quality of products is delivered.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Part of an agile team making sure quality is pushed into the core development process from requests to delivery phase.
  • Developing test frameworks using innovative tech and tools. 
  • Support testing at various levels of test processes – unit, integration, service, contract, E2E testing.
  • Writing and reviewing test codes of the highest standards regarding test coverage, resilience, consistency and performance of test automations.
  • Performing manual testing when required.
  • Taking part in agile functions (Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning & Demonstrations).
  • Using correct KPIs to verify on software quality.
  • Reporting issues and problems to the attention of the team to ensure timely and the correct actions are dealt with.
  • Applying risk assessment methods to identify quality risks and impact and, where possible, take appropriate measures.
  • Taking part in test plan review and process review and assist in delivering continuous improvements.
  • Logging defects in a clear and simple manner and working with the Product team to help highlight defects for resolutions.
  • Cooperate with developers when needed to pair-test functionalities and debug issues.

What experience you will need:

  • Strong experience in JavaScript 
  • Wealth of exposure testing mobile platforms (exclusively iOS & Android)
  • Hands-on experience with Appium; IDEs such as VSCode; XCode, Android Studio and network monitoring tools such as Charles Proxy or similar.
  • Practical experience testing Webservices/RESTful APIs with tools such as Postman.
  • Experience with Lean/Agile methodologies (for example: Scrum or Kanban).
  • Previous experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins & Bitrise)
  • Understanding of version control with GIT, with a decent knowledge of branching and merging concepts.
  • Good grasp of BDD, TDD, ATDD and how they can be used to test both backend & frontend. 
  • Experience analysing, reporting, tracking, and solving defects & issues using JIRA, Trello etc.
  • Work experience with cloud such as AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud testing platforms like BrowserStack, AWS Device Farm, Saucelab etc.
