UX Designer

Excellent opportunity for a UX Designer working for a fast-paced, dynamic and advanced company of primary sources within the academic industry. You will be the first UX Designer employed by the company. the ideal candidate will be influential in defining UX as a business function and create the standard for UX research, design and delivery across the company.

We are looking for a self-motivated UX Designer with a desire for apprehending intricate user needs through impressive designing. The ideal candidate will have a strong gratitude for users of digital archival content, including librarians, students, researchers, academic teaching talent and demonstrate exceptional creative talent for translating intricate challenges into simple and effective ways.

What we are looking for:

• a proven history record in a User Experience role, with a portfolio of work that demonstrates an understanding with front-end websites, responsive design, administrative tools and interfaces
• evidence of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative user research activities
• strong communication skills, able to build strong relationships with stakeholders and discuss users’ needs in a friendly, knowledgeable and engaging fashion
• good analytical skills, able to interrogate and interpret information, and identify improvements to weak user pathways; and
• experience working with product and software development teams, preferably in an Agile environment.
