Chief Product Officer - Receipt Bank

The Client

Receipt Bank are a multi-award-winning FinTech company, once-dubbed the UK’s 7th fastest-growing tech company in the Deloitte “Fast 50” in 2017. Awards also include a CPA Practice advisor technology innovation award in 2018 amongst a whole a host of others.

A pre-accounting platform that tracks business expenses, Receipt Bank uses a combination of AI-powered OCR technology and human verification to turn documents into digital data.

Receipt Bank have an easy-to-use mobile app that minimizes data entry each time, with superb integration across several different accounting apps. For cloud or desktop systems, the general ledger is updated in real time, so businesses and clients alike are consistently kept up-to-date.

With such high standards to uphold, providing incredible levels of accuracy, the new hire was a central role ensuring maintenance of these high levels.

The Challenge

Receipt Bank had been unable to fill the position of their Head of Product for their AI team. This role had been live for quite some time, with many other agencies working to fill the role, as well as internal talent teams.

For such a specialist role, it was imperative that time was taken to find the perfect (and worthy) candidate.

Salary was proving to be the biggest challenge, with a Head of Product typically paid higher than what Receipt Bank was willing to offer. The candidate needed to meet several criteria, whilst being paid slightly beneath market average. The desired candidate needed experience in a previous AI Product Manager role, a good degree and an MBA, with an inquisitive and curious nature.

The Result
